FLORES DE MAYO
This procession is composed of sagalas (muses). Reina de las Flores or the Rosa Mistica is the main character, a role often prized by the town's beauty, or the debutante of the year. Flores de Mayo is a floral parade in honor of the Virgin Mary. The sagalas are dressed in regal crowns, complete with tiara and train. Each one portrays one of the Virgin’s sovereign roles. After the procession, a reception is held at the hermana mayor's house, the host of the fiesta.
